I have just come across what I thought might've been a little steep for a PPC-400, but I need a second opinion. Without me listing the price, what range would you pay for a Cordata PPC-400 that is in fair condition/all working?
I want to feel less guilty if I push for it

Well, I am no expert. I don't buy and sell. But if I found this in an estate sale I would pay up to $200 if it was working and came with all the "stuff" like documentation and software. I paid $75 for a non-working Kaypro that runs CP/M. This PPC-400 looks to run MS-DOS, but if only 256K it will be limited. Maybe it will also run C/PM-86? That might be cool.

Thank you for your input! It unfortunately doesn't come with paperwork, but it does have all accessories. I have put forward $120 USD which the seller has accepted, so I believe the price matches the condition. It has DOS 3.3 installed and ready to go, although I'm unsure of the HDD's condition. Down the line I might possibly try running C/PM-86!

If the system is 100% IBM PC compatible there is a version of CP/M-86 that works. I have used it on several of my PC/XT class clones and on one of my AT clones. If it only has 256K of RAM you will find it challenging to run many MS-DOS programs. But that is plenty for CP/M-86.
