I would like to add a high speed punch/reader to my PDP-8/M one of these days. I do have a couple of serial interfaced fast punch/readers from the CNC world, and a few reel-to-reel readers from the CNC world which I could consider building a PC8E-compatible OMNIBUS card for. But it would be a lot nicer to have a real vintage DEC punch/reader with fanfold tape playfully flipping around in front.

I’m aware of a lovely-looking PC04 + PC8E + extras posted on eBay right now, but its asking price is quite a bit higher than what I’d be willing to spend at this moment. Maybe I’ll make an offer on it, or maybe somebody here has a comparable punch/reader to tempt me with.

Does anybody have a vintage DEC punch/reader available for sale or trade? I’d be happy to consider one by itself. If it happens to include either OMNIBUS or UNIBUS interface hardware, that would be even nicer.

I’ve recently posted that I’m looking for a DECtape or LINCtape drive, and I’m probably going to post about wanting an RK05 drive. Realistically, if all three showed up at the same time I’d probably have to pick just one of them to buy. :)
