8 bit IDE (XTA) Replacement Project

Yes, you can use e.g. a logic analyzer, I use the Saleae logic 16 type, it is great. But it is very difficult to extract only the relevant bus signals. So I have developed a very special one with 32 signals and does only trigger and store datas if relevant bus signals changed. It does store...

The latest development, the PS2XT2SDminiPi. And it works. A solid state drive with 112 MB ( type 9 ) for the IBM PS/2 25 or 30 or PS/1 with XT connector. This version has a Raspberrry Pi Pico instead of the teensy 4.1, which does reduce cost, but also speed . Reading speed is 1/5 of the teensy...

I think, that the card is only equipped with IC's for the XT-Bus, the missing IC's are probably needed for the FDC.

8 bit IDE (XTA) Replacement Project

The XTA2SD Board does replace a XTA HDD and has the same fuction. Just as plug and play w/o any modification to the BIOS. The sectors are stored as files on the SD-Card, that was the easiest way to design. That has the restriction, that data exchange with the SD-Card has to be done with a FDD...

8 bit IDE (XTA) Replacement Project

The EuroPC and PCII have a special XTA Bus for the HDD. The CF-card will not work on this bus, nor can be connected. The XTA2SD has a software emulator to connect a SD-Card and can be directly connected to the XTA bus inside the EuroPC. There should be enough place inside the EuroPC as for the...
