    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

I'm not AM documentation, but my guess is; AM1200=0,1,2 are labeled on your pic as db9 (0,1,2); AM1203=db9 (3-10), and AM1213=0,1,2 db25 (3), db9 (4), db25 (5). Now if the AM1213 ports are like the AM1013 ports, there are also jumpers to configere the port's function. One of the first things I...

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

are you writing your VAM/L stuff to emulate at 8/10mhz, or as fast as the host will drive it, or both?

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

nope, 1.1A had it, I don't know about 1.0, I don't know what you're looking for but, is it possible it's a part of the z80 rom stuff, which I don't have?

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

As released by Alpha in 1.1A, looks like standard 68681 Duart stuff.

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

Well, I have three sets of schematics for three different revs of 1200's, and am not sure if that covers all 1200's, don't think we ever bought that rev. At least one schematic say the parallel port runs off a Z80>Z80PIO. What the first db25 port 4 or the 4th db9 port 4 does I have no clue...

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

I have no recollection of that configuration at all, I'll dig through the schematics.

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

I'm a dummy, I see it now! ..0...1....2 \9/ \9/ \9/ \?/ \?/ \??/ my ascii pic above line 1: Port numbers line 2: db pins I don't recall 6 built-in ports on the am1200 motherboard (I.E. the first line) I'm still confused about the last three ports on the first line. I'm pretty sure I have...

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

Oh, I'm a dummy, VFC has done to me also (compressing whitespace I think), and it didn't occur to me. Is the text graphic and jpg, a db0 pin out? If you are interested in the pinout, I believe port zero also has a remote reset, if that's what you're interested in, I can check the schematics. if...

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

    My memory matches am1200 0-2, although, I'm confused by this [1]-[PP} and the 1203 0-3, is the am1213 a db25 4 port board???

    DIP IC test clip

Anyone know where I can buy a... 14 pin DIP IC test clip tool with 0.1" pin spacing? I had a stroke a while ago and I can't seem to logic probe pins and hit the reset button at the same time.

To my knowledge, the closest thing was SysXser Alpha's system diags.

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

I just wanted to update this thread, I’m now recommending the “Zulu” version of the same scsi2sd card, from the same place, the difference or advantage to the Zulu is no scsi2sd-util because it is built into firmware and runs automatically on power up, nothing to configure, plus to use it as a...

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

I already have two boards, had the developer change the timer interrupt changed to 6 to supersede lower interrupts, got the BIOS and boot rom source code commented, i think i'll leave the CP/M file partition intact and start the AMOSL partition after it (the CD carts have plenty of room) then...

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

Power on copyright notice and serial port locks were in TRMDEF and started in 1.3 which means it's earlier than 1.3., i already have 1.2. I've been thinking of porting AMOSL to https://www.retrobrewcomputers.org/doku.php?id=builderpages:plasmo:cb030:cb030_rev1 for a complete $100 AM machine. No...

Thanks, I'm rebuilding a disk structure for someone, but will dig into this after that. Do you have 1.1a or 1.0? I think I can assemble a good chunk of 1.1a from source code, but am still looking for a complete OS.
