Incredible long shot: Laser PC5 ROM image?

Just came across this post. I wanted BASIC on my PC-6 and have been on the lookout for one of the original PC-5s just to get the ROM image with BASIC on it. I believe the firmware for the 5 and 6 is pretty identical and could probably be hacked to have BASIC on it, if someone could un-earth the ROM.

8032 - No Chirp, No Screen

I could probably do both of those. I had to look up what an NOP generator was, and it just a little piece of hardware that needs to be soldered together; something I should have all the parts for. I can also probably program your PETTESTER onto an EPROM. Unfortunately, my programmer is kinda...

8032 - No Chirp, No Screen

I get exactly one small pulse and then nothing.

8032 - No Chirp, No Screen

Reset, IRQ and NMI all go high. I get a spike out of the SYNC line, but it otherwise remains low.

8032 - No Chirp, No Screen

I decided to bring out my two Commodore 8032s. One of them works (after I replaced a RAM chip) and one of them does not. I figured I could use the working one to help diagnose the one that doesn't work. However, I'm hitting a bit of a wall. Here's what I've got figured out so far... The...

    Cromemco Thift Store Find

I bought a batch of S-100 stuff from the thrift store for a great price, mostly Cromemco stuff. Unfortunately, it's a bit incomplete, so I figured I'd work towards getting some stuff to make it functional so I can play with it. I found a backplane for a good price which is currently on it's way...

    DDNS problems

So I've embarked on the mission to get my BBS on the internet via telnet. So far so good. Got it connected to a virtual modem in linux and I can telnet to it via my home network. I knew I was in for a challenge getting to work over the internet. I have a Dynamic IP through my ISP, so I looked...

    GEOS error during boot

I tried a different disk and a different version with the same result. I'm guessing it might be a RAM issue. This thing apparently has 8MB of RAM, and I have no clue what's going on in the REU. As you can tell, this was someone's pet project. How would I do a RAM test?

    GEOS error during boot

I recently decided to try booting GEOS on my crazy expanded C128-D figuring it would be a good experience, but I end up getting an error. Anybody have a clue what this means?

Altair 8800 Program Execution Not Working

I went through the bus connectors and found that whoever soldered all this seemed to have a lack of solder on many of the pins, so I filled them all nicely. Didn't find anything really critical other than that, but I'm still having problems. So this is what I'm seeing on my Altair. I followed...

Altair 8800 Program Execution Not Working

So I'm back working on the Altair. The RAM is good, I can read & write to it, but when it comes to executing anything, it's not doing a damn thing. When I reset, all the status lights look good (MEMR, MI, and WO are lit). When I single step, the STACK LED will light up for the next two steps...

    Color Maximite Computer

So I watched the 8 Bit guy talk about the Maximite computer which uses BASIC. He didn't go into much detail, so I figured I'd look into this interesting board. This thing is freakin' awesome! This version has a spot for prototyping...

Solid State Music RAM board problem (Altair 8800)

So it appears that I got my Altair 8800 working (from a completely non-working state), but the problem I'm having is the D0-D7 LEDs are always in the on position. Hard reset works, stepping through the addresses works, but reading and writing to them do nothing to change their state. I've never...

Compaq Portable / IBM Model F Keyboard

I just bought a Compaq Portable off Ebay. From what I've seen, it has the same style keyboard as my Kaypro with the deteriorating foam pads. This computer is going to have a much needed purpose, and I'm going to be hammering away at that keyboard quite a bit. I was wondering if it's physically...

Problems with track 21 and beyond

I finally got both my drives working on my Model III. However, it seems to be having problems with data starting at track 21 and higher. This is for both drives, and all operating systems. It won't backup disks past cylinder 21, and it complains when it's formatting a disk past that point. I'm...

    Redfly Mobile Companion

I couldn't resist buying this thing, even though I suspected it could be an obsolete piece of useless crap. It's basically a dumb terminal for your smartphone. It powers up fine, and that's the extent of it. From what I can tell, i may be able to turn it into a crummy laptop with an old Windows...

    Compaq Portable (Plus) Wanted

Looking for a Compaq Portable. Preferable if it has a hard drive, but not necessary as I have one I can put in it. Preferably located in Canada to reduce the pains of shipping prices, but will purchase from the US if the price isn't too bad. Doesn't need to be re-capped, as I can do that.

    Upgrading a Compaq Portable

I've been thinking about purchasing a Compaq Portable (the original one). A lot of the configurations I see have two floppy drives, but some have hard drives in them. Is it fairly straight-forward to install a hard drive controller card and a drive? I have a couple kicking around that I could use.

    Altair 8800 Registry?

I would love to see a registry for the Altair 8800 just to see where they are in the world and how many are currently out there. It looks like some people did start registries in the past, but I can't find a single one currently online. Does anybody know of one currently online that I'm perhaps...

    Host Adaptor Board

I got this card in a batch of Apple II stuff. Does anybody know what it's for? I can't find anything on it.
