You can now load up Windows 3.0 if you so desire - I did a bunch of testing on 86box a few years back and found a bunch of real mode apps that should run on XT/CGA in real mode.

No - it does not.
I have a PC-7100 which is supposed to have a hard-card and interface, it was removed by the previous owner and is simply ignored.
The expansion chassis does not support any DMA mode operations which is required for hard disk operations such as the ones XTIDE would use.
As per my note above I believe it has to do with the maturity of DOS at the time of the unit being created.
