UDOS (Z80) Boot disk image wanted

Sorry to reply to this "vintage" thread but the RIO sources have surfaced, so if you want to check out the ZDOS internals... https://github.com/sebhc/sebhc/tree/master/mcz I am writing a MCZ emulator in MAME including the Z8000 development board for the MCZ. Its sources are also available, and...

How were business apps done in BASIC?

In the mid 80s I wrote a ton of business software in Basic. When MS-DOS came out, I remember using a TSR library called FABS plus. Unfortunately I can’t find any traces of it, although there is a relatively recent replacement: https://gcssoft.de/fats/english/efconv.html It was pretty fast and...

    Progam Intel C

I looked at the programs. It looks like they use a bunch of boards. Do you actually have those and the equipment the software controls?

It's not clear to me how an "Intel C" will help you get rid of an hardware dongle... Sapere aude :)

Olivetti M21 (M24) Dead motherboard PAL IC

These pals are difficult to dump. I had to buy a labtool48 just to do that… Dump the bios and we can compare it with other versions “in the wild”…

Olivetti M21 (M24) Dead motherboard PAL IC

NP. I have a complete set of M24 PALs you need the others. I bought an AT&T 6300 to build a z8001 board for it, but it had non compatible PALs, so I bought an 1.43 motherboard and then found the rest…

Olivetti M21 (M24) Dead motherboard PAL IC

Here is a complete set from a 1.1 motherboard, should be identical to yours. I am also including a GAL version. I can also send you a programmed gal, but you'll have to wait until I travel to Europe. It's a pain in the neck to fill a ton of custom forms for a gal. I am pretty sure that you can...

Olivetti M21 (M24) Dead motherboard PAL IC

Here are the PALs. The 8H has different versions: http://www.olivettim24.hadesnet.org/docs/tecman.pdf I included the latest PL52. Being a PAL16R8 you can replace it with a GAL16V8, programmable with a cheap Chinese programmer and convert the file with PAL2GAL. I can also get you the PL48 if...

    Need PCOS for M20

Yes, but I am talking about segments 16-127. Segment lines SN4-SN6 are fed directly into SEGT so they are not used at all in the M20 software. Unless you disconnect the SEGT line you can’t use them. The SEGT line is also not used at all for segments 0-15… By disconnecting SEGT you can access the...

    Need PCOS for M20

You are right! But I have never seen a motherboard itself with 16K DRAMS. Mine has 4164s and all the other pictures of motherboards I have seen have 4164s. Here is the 128K expansion board I built with 41464s... BTW, regarding the max memory. I am doing some experiments: if you disconnect the...

    Need PCOS for M20

Well, on the expansion through the regular bus I am using static rams, so I just provide a different mapping prom through a PLD. On the 128K card (memory BUS) I am just using 64kx4 DRAMs to reduce the chip count. These should be identical to the the 64kx1 on the original 128K expansion boards...

That’s great!! But why did you create the pcb as well? Did you route it manually?

    Need PCOS for M20

Hi Dwight, I think I found a better way to do it: you can add RAM on the expansion bus instead of the 3 separate memory slots... The trick is to disable the mapping prom (with the MEMDIS signal) and provide a new memory map on the expansion board. There are a few quirks regarding the boot and...

    Need PCOS for M20

Easy! Use MAME's floptool to convert from IMD to M20 images. http://www.z80ne.com/m20/index.php?argument=sections/tech/mame_m20.inc After copying the track0 from a good image and converting them to gotek format you should be able to use them.
