Pacific Northwest ### SCAM ALERT ###

seems like PayPal should have an escrow service - where you submit your money but the seller doesn't get paid until you sign off on receipt.

Pacific Northwest ### SCAM ALERT ###

Does anyone have any idea how PayPal knew this was a scam? That's impressive.

Sorry, I haven't been keeping close track - am I drilling speaker holes in addition to the front panel?

    That should work fine.

    Cromemco JS-1 Joystick Replica

I recently threw out all the Tants I had in stock after 1 failed short in a somewhat critical project. Now I just stick with ceramics.

Yes, they're there but they're pretty subtle. It'll be a bit better now that I've dialed in the lash. Though the X lash is only 0.002 so that won't matter much on a 0.014 inset. Here's the ABC's as best I understand them

need to make a couple of minor adjustments, if you look at the big joystick hole you can see that there's a bit of a bump out just to the right of the top mount hole. That's a lash problem, I hadn't yet dialed in the lash correctly. Next thing on the agenda. Also if you look at the right-most...

Ok, in this zip is a 0v2 version of the panel DXF. Lmk your thoughts. I think I can cut a test piece today, though weirdly it'll be out of plexi since I have a ton of it in stock.

I've added the DXF for the front panel to this zip, let me know if you have any comments. Let me see if I have any 6061 sheet in stock, I can do a test cut. I just did a bunch of updates to the CNC machines so they aren't fully proven yet, so I'll likely do several proof cuts before going...

I'll update the drawing and post the DXF LMK how you want to move forward - cut up an actual box, cut a sacrificial plate or laser up some cardboard?

A tip for those designing new hardware for vintage machines...

Funny story there, I recently was trying to find a robot vac that would work on shag carpet (TLDR: there isn't one) and I got a recommendation from the internet and ordered it. It was surprisingly inexpensive and had a full on spinning Lidar on top so I had high hopes. Well, the first thing it...

Here are the DXF's in case anyone wants to play around with them. I had to zip them because this platform won't accept native DXF I don't have a laser cutter in house but if @wperko If you want to laser cut them and send to @nullvalue for confirmation that might be good. Next up, what is the...

I recall yet another YouTube video where the guy said you get some mailing labels, take all the labels off, print onto the backing on the side where the labels used to be and then transfer that.

Yes, I can either make the slots a bit longer to compensate for the roundover or I can deliver it as is and someone can file square corners in. I think I would just use a regular file for this rather than the diamond ones. They are great, but if you want nice square corners and fast cutting...

They are Gantry CNC machines, sorta home made... In this picture you can see the little one in the foreground and the big one in the background.

The 8-bit Guy on YouTube talks about those quite a bit, you might be able to find good ideas there. I'm curious about this too.

Here's what I usually put together before I head down to the shop. Obviously all of these numbers are made up. Once I have the thing programmed into the machine I can cut a sample faceplate and you can test fit before I actually try to cut the box. That might avoid $34 mistakes.

Just the box and a drawing :) Let me know if you need more details on what the drawing should look like.
