A software project...

Couldnt see putting this anywhere else...

I have grown tired of disconnecting my XP HD, plugging in the DOS HD, booting up the Model 4P emulator, allowing the emulator to dump prints to a disk file, printing them, modifying them, THEN transferring data BACK to the disks with ANOTHER program for my dinosaur...

So...

I have begun the task of writing an MT+ pascal program to allow me to read and write 720k/3.5 FDs IN cp/m...

Im running Montezuma right now (tho that may change...) with a bootable IDE Hard drive (compliments of the GIDE board), and it DOES have transfer programs, but they are built for the old 40t/SS crowd...
and I got rid of my 5.25s as soon as I was sure the homemade cable was gonna work!

I have learned alot about MM CP/M recently (maybe too much?) but figuring out the DOS was a true headache! FAT-12 is a royal pain in the fat...

But... as of tonite, I have cracked the code (I think) that will work with the DPB setup Im using...!

Now... for the coding! :D

since I'm attempting to code in pascal (MT+) and not having much luck getting the bios-level functions to operate properly... (seldsk, etc)

Once those are behaving themselves it will congeal... I think!

Interesting project. Where did you find the Montezuma CP/M, I've been looking for awhile to get a copy for my 4D. Good luck!

Im not really sure now... I thought that Gaby had them but that site has been changed quite a bit since I downloaded it...
... check the sticky re CP/M system disks...

Of course I still have them but have no place to 'put them' online.

Have put the project on the 'back burner' for a couple of weeks... lots of doc visits and a weddin' to handle first...
besides,

I usually do my best programming 'off-line'.

Okay, I remembered that the system was available from the source for the model 4/4p emulator Im using... link below...

the virtual disks are in .ace archive format, but the emulator CAN and DOES write to physical disks (get supplemental disk(s)) if not in NT-type OS...
meaning DOS-based (tho ME works too...)

for not working on this... between broken vehicles and 100mi trips to the doctor every week (chemo sucks!) I havent put much time into resolving my bios access issues...

... and have a weddin' to attend NEXT week! :D

But WILL persevere... and post as things pro/digress!

Well, the new year is here and my software project has been sitting... :bomb:

As I am no longer allowed to bring the machine to work I will have to work on the software on the emulator and 'move it'... but,

Well, I have been distracted by a new acquistion (the 1500hd that is blogged), so this will be put on hold until then.
If the zombieputer returns to life this project may not require completion! :D
