Someone threw out an Amiga 4000/030 (Rev B) (and also a Mac G3 Beige) in company recycle bin (minus the monitor and mouse) which I dug up. Curiously the power supply vent has been cut out altogether (exposing the caps and regulators). Was power supply overheating common in desktop A4k's?

I read somewhere A4ks should be able to drive a VGA monitor, but the unit appears to be using some oddball 26 pin connector. What would it take to connect this beast to a modern LCD panel?

Haven't heard of any overheating issues during my 10 conitinuous years as an Amiga owner
Maybe the PSU fan just failed and caused the overheat?

You'll need a scandoubler to hook it up to a VGA monitor since the Amiga native RGB output uses lower scanrates so you need a special monitor for that, some early Multisync monitor like the Nec 3D Multisync could handle those modes.
