I just won a HP 95LX on ebay, but it's without the serial cable (I lost last week another 95lx with cables and manual and it was cheaper too. But I forgot to bid in time :()

I saw in the RS-232 page how to build a serial cable but I don't get if I should add a MAX-232 or if don't need it. The serial port of this PDA should use TTL levels, or am I wrong?

I ain't got a klew what a MAX-232 is, so I'm pretty sure ya don't need one. Sometimes a cable is just a cable.

BTW, great page ya dug up there. I haven't seen it before.

Well, I see the point that a cable *sometimes* might be a cable. :D

Btw, a MAX 232 is a simple IC. All it does is converting a TTL signal to the EIA 232 standard (which is basically the serial port standard normal computers have, with the -15V and +15V range), and vice versa (I have to admit I do love this word)

The page was found days ago googling, but someone posted it here too, in an old 200lx thread.

Yah, in this case, the cable is only a cable with two simple connectors on the ends, no fancy components in line. I don't have the pinouts, but I think Lawrence does.

Pinouts are also in the page up there, and they say a "digital audio" cd-drive connector will fit.

Thanks ;)
