Altair parts wanted - other S100

I am looking for a four connector motherboard extension (with or without S-100 connectors) for my 8800 - I would even borrow one so I could make a reproduction - my machine just has 4 slots and only 2 of them have s-100 connectors!). I would also be interested in obtaining a hi-rez scan (or good photo close up with some size measurements) of the Altair 8800 aluminum logo plate so I could make a reproduction. Any other Altair items cheerfully considered!
I am open to trades for other S-100 boards, including ProcTech, NorthStar and CompuPro - hardware and manuals.

I have an 8800 and an 8800a and I could probably find time to drop the logo plates onto a scanner. I'll probably have to do two scans of each since the plates are a bit longer then the scanner bed.

I can also scan the bottom side of a MITS 4 slot motherboard which would help in reproducing that item.

I'll see what I can do when I can find time and I'll post the results on www.vintage-computer.com when i'm done.

Thanks, Erik. That would be great! I posted a similar request on the Altair group on Yahoo last week and wasn't encouraged by the (lack of) response. I think you did so here in record time. (I guess if you are board owner, you keep on top of postings!)

I'm actually a member of the Altair group as well and I was feeling guilty about not replying there.

Life is hyper-hectic right now (baby on the way, pending move to a new house, etc.) and I just can't seem to scrape up time for my hobbies like I want...

I'll do my best to get on this request, though. Feel free to remind me if I seem to be slacking.

I completed the scans and put them up at my website.

Hopefully they won't become too popular because tons of 5 MB downloads will kill my monthly bandwidth allocation pretty quickly! :)

Check out the bottom of my 8800 page for the 3 different scans.

The front panel is a stitch of 2 scans, one for each half of the plate. If you look closely you can see where the images meet, but you shouldn't have a problem using this to reproduce the panel if you so choose.

Best of luck and let me know how it all works out!

Erik

Many thanks!

Many thanks!

Erik -

Thanks so much for doing these, especially at this busy time for you. I will get moving on finding a local company who can make repro's of the nameplate and let you know what I find out. The MB extensions will obviously take some time.
