Little odd this one.

An Amiga 2000 that someone has already had a go at. Its a nice machine, has a 68020 coprocessor card and two hard drives but the battery has leaked.

With the CPU removed, one pin of the socket is completely missing ! So new socket fitted. The Paula socket is looking a bit tarnished, so had to buy a PLCC removal tool to clean up all the contacts.

Now boots, but the hard drive seems to need a kick, suspect the heads are sticking.

Whats odd is the mouse port wont work. In place of F1, there is a heat damaged 1K ohm resistor which when a mouse is plugged in, is dropping the voltage at the mouse to 2V which isnt enought to run it and a lot of the tracks and vias are seriously mechanically damaged. Got a new pico fuse on order but for now a 40 ohm resistor is fitted as a very temp measure and the mouse has all but leapt into life except the right mouse button.

Suspect that one of the T EMI filters has failed so now on order too.

Think I will need to fit a new SCSI drive though.

New 4A pico fuse fitted. The EMI filters were fine, just lots and lots of damage around the mouse port. Virtually every track has lifted and failed. Mouse is now working fine.

Quantum Fireball suffering from the sticky head buffer. The rubber that the head arm hits has degraded and gone sticky so when parked, it won't release. I have fixed this in the past with a small bit of rubber but this one is of slightly different design and also the headlock isn't coming off either. New Zulu SCSI is now on the cards to be fitted by another one of the team, but I think I will call this repair complete and a success
