Are my first 2 Linux Lakka test PCs good choices?

Hello retro gamers,

Do any of you use Linux Lakka on old PCs?

I am completely new to Lakka and I need guidance please on how old the choice of PCs can be.

So I just picked up 2 old as dirt systems from the PC recycling center...

Here's a picture of them:

-----------------------------------------------

The one on the right is an HP 6000 Pro:

Core 2 Quad Q9400 @2.66GHz

4GB RAM

------------------------------------------------

The one on the left is a Dell XPS 400:

It has some speed Pentium D Proc... I haven't checked because I'll need new thermal paste if I remove the heatsink, and it's at my buddy's. I also can't test because I don't have a USB keyboard handy.

1GB DDR2 RAM is in there, but docs say I can put in 4GB, which Lakka will surely need.

------------------------------------------------

I also have two old PCIe graphics cards to put in both systems: A GeForce GT 440 and a GeForce GT 620. (That HD 6670 box in the pic is actually just holding a bunch of screws)

I was told by a guy at a PC shop that a GPU with 1GB or more is enough for Lakka. These 2 cards have 1GB each.

His test system actually has a Core 2 Quad and 4GB ram like my HP, but his one has some kind of 1GB onboard graphics, he claims.

------------------------------------------------

I just put in the GeForce GT 620 and a 500GB Seagate HDD into the HP 6000 Pro and I successfully installed the latest Lakka onto it. I can't find anything in the documentation on what the stuff in the main menu does and what it means, but I read I need a second PC running a regular OS - like desktop Linux or MS Windows to download games over the network to this Lakka PC. I will try it out on Friday with my friend's WIFI.

Do you think the hardware I have in the HP tower is good enough for Lakka? Should I swap GPUs?

What about the Dell? Some guys on old forum posts said the motherboard can't support Core 2 Duos, so I'm pretty much stuck with the Pentium D Netburst dog... but if I up the Dell's ram to 4GB and put in the other 1GB VRAM graphics card, will it be a decent Lakka system?

Thanks for any advice.
