The power supply specifications according to Microsolutions Document 2750 are

Output Voltages for all Backpack Power Supplies
Compatible power supplies for all Backpack Tape Drives, Hard Drives, and CDROMs
include:
AC: between 15VAC and 22VAC using 750mA or greater
DC: between 15VDC and 22VDC using 750mA or greater
Our current shipping North American Power Supply has the following rating:
Backpack 800TD (Model 143010 and 143012) Tape Drives:
Input: 120VAC 60Hz
Output: 15VAC 1.8A
Backpack CDROM, pd/cd, Hard Drive and 8000t (and all Backpack Tape Drives not listed above):
Input: 120VAC 60Hz
Output: 18VAC 900mA
(or) Output: 15VAC 1.8A (1800mA)
All Backpack Power Supplies have a 5.5mm Outer Diameter and 2.1mm Inner Diameter, except for the Backpack
800TD (Models 143010 and 143012) which have a center tapped 3pin mini DIN.
 
I have the same issue. I have a few power suppies with this S-Video style, but they seem to be a different pinout. Backpack CD-Rewriter parallel and usb. Model 194215.

Thank you very much, seems that is indeed the power supply I need. Ones listed for the drive are insane at 25 dollars.
