Hi all,

Some really good news that I've just had, very kindly donated to me, a Quantel DPB 7000 mainframe computer from around 1988 (system age) This was a pioneering broadcast computer graphics system and this particular one came out of the BBC Studios at Ellstree! The system still has much of it's original 8 inch floppies with it that contain files belonging to Eastenders etc and it's believe there are more on the hard drive once it's powered up )

Anyway, I've done a video on my channel, so please have a look and leave any technical advice / comments you wish )

Best regards

Steve

My old boss was on the Quantel development team & did the mechanical design / board layouts (All hand taped!) for the original Paintbox (maybe this one too). He also did the first British "pong" & the Zero-One model train controller (which allowed you to run more than one train on the same track) & the Chroma-chime electronic doorbell! I must send him an email & ask about his involvement with this.
