This belongs to my neighbor, and he wants to run Win98SE. To that end, he bought a 6Gb drive.

Bios will only see ~320Mb as max hard drive size. I have been to NEC and can't find this model number, much less a BIOS update. I have tried "Googling" also with no luck.

I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction, or actually has the update.

Is it at all possible? I would think you can get at least 504 MiB (528 MB) from BIOS/DOS.

I had a friend who added a rather large (at least several GB) disk to a 486 class system. By using Linux, bypassing BIOS addressing, he was able to use all of the disk, but I don't know if there is a similar solution using any Windows version, at least not 95/98 generation.
