Ok I don't know if it is called a blanking plate:???: , but...

I have a 3.5 zip drive, and I am installing it in a 5.25 slot. I noticed there will be a gaping hole around it, and I need a white plastic plate to cover up that area, so I suppose it is called a blanking plate. I would like one that all I have to pay is shipping, due to the invalueable-ness of the item. My shipping code is 75077. Please reply!!!

What you are looking for is a 5.25" to 3.5" bay converter / 3.5 floppy drive mounting kit or something along those lines.. A blanking plate is the piece of plastic that covers an empty bay. They are common on eBay if you have no luck here. :)

Yea...

Yea...

Yea I guess I am looking for a converter. Couldn't find one on ebay, maybe One will show up...Anyone here have one? :?:

Just the plate, or also the (metal) drive mounting rails? White or beige? Mounting screws too?

I have some (even NIB), but the lowest I'd consider is $5 in addition to the shipping. Sorry, I gotta have more reason to take the time to get into the stuff, box it up nice, and go to the Post Office. Maybe there is someone around more generous than me.

Ever think they might be in the desktop case accessories?: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180086379614 (look in the same category for similiar listings)...

Even on eBay, I doubt anyone gives away free goods.

A 5.25" to 3.5" converter costs $7 on TigerDirect.com (just one supplier out of the blue that I know handles the US market, not neccessarily the cheapest). If you want a more flashy one in black or silver, it costs $17. Maybe you can find someone who sells you a kit for $3-4, but what is the difference compared to Terry's offer?

Thankyou

Thankyou

Thanks all, found a nice brand new white kit, complete with plate, rails, screws, and power/other adapters. It was $1.99 on ebay, so near free.

And perhaps this thread will be closed... :bomb:
