Bringing up CPM3 for the first time

VERY COOL!!

I am planning on installing a version of cpm on a 8088 xt clone that I have all the parts gathered .

I have also downloaded a ton of cpm docs and have done a bit of reading but this does show a very good overview on how its done , of course the 8088 will be a bit different.

Ive installed a version on a 486 via a premade 1.44 floppy image but i'm wanting tho get down and dirty and do it from scratch.

Klee, I am currently doing a S-100 8086 board. (Prototype already done and working. I have it going with CPM86+) however it will be a month or so until I can get around to writing that stuff up. -- Lots to do! However stay tuned.

I have now added an update (towards the end of the article) describing how to build a Banked version of CPM3.
Also included two short Videos
Enjoy

I aleady watched them yesterday. ;)

Nice write up! I like the images showing how banking works and memory layout. Very useful!

Good work and thanks for the better CP/M -3.0 manuals.

I thought about trying it out on the 8088 clone that's running CP/M-86 now but after reading the manual I had visions of being found curled up in a fetal position slowly rocking back and forth mumbling unintelligibly.
