EDITED:
Hi all, im back, been a long time since i was here.
Well im now selling my Commodore CMD HD40 drive, there is still a small problem, with it, i think the Hard Drive may be on the way out. After putting in a new updated chip into the drive i did manage to get the Drive list up, but was unable to load any programs or even format the drive, so looks like the drive needs replacing.

Drive comes with a 1541/1581 UK power supply as ive miss placed the original power supply, (Which was the 110Volt PSU And with a Step down convertor Both being very heavy and would cost a bomb in postal costs) Probly would of weighed in around 6-8 kilos, as i say original PSU and convertor was heavy, but the power supply ive put with it works with the drive ok, it firers up the Drive and all the lights show for a second or two when it turns on, the the ACTIVE lite flashes on and off steadly waiting for a command from the command prompt. Probly an easy fix to those who know how to fix it if it is a Disk Drive problem..

I have the original manual in the binder with the Software Disks, and upgrade software.

Ive got it on Ebay at a reserve as i was offered £30 for the manul and £75 for the drive as it stands, but i decided not to sell it as seperate itmes i want it all to go to the same buyer.

At the moement it is listed on Ebay and it has reached £100 so far. Not sure what the final winning price will fetch, but i have seen CMD Drive go for near $400 for a working one and around $300 for a faulty one, so i should make somethink on it, i did orginaly buy this new many years ago from ordering from USA at that time it cost me £345 inc shipping, a lot of money at that time 20 years ago.lol

Anyways it is up forsale as i say, if you want to check it out here is the Ebay link.

Images are on ebay and are orignal as i did list it here once befor befor i got a new chip installed.

Cheers Steve
