Compaq Portable 386, replace display

Hi!

Is it possible to replace the display on a compaq portable 386 with a gas plasma from a different donor like a Toshiba T2100 for instance?

Buying one and the seller only had this image of the display powered on and I´m a bit worried.

And until I get that sorted out, how is the experience using a display with these issues?

I've never tried it. The display and driver card go together, so I'm not sure that you can just drop in a different display.

Sadly, the gas plasma displays have problems over time. My Compaq Portable 386 has a couple of lines - not too bad to use.

I guess I´ll see if I can make it a little bit better with cleaning and going over the caps, otherwise I´ll just restore it slowly and see if I can find a better display
