Hi,

I recently repaired and restored an SD Systems PROM-100 EPROM burner. I am now able to read and program some first and second generation EPROMs. I am willing to help fellow vintage computer restoration hobbyists with these hard to get EPROMs. If you would like some help please make arrangements with me offline.

This is especially useful for restoring old machines which rely on the NMOS 2708, 2758, 2716, 2732, and 2516 style EPROMs. Most recent programmers do not support these old classics especially the first generation 2708's due to their unique three voltage requirements.

A while back Vlad gave me some EPROMs and some other chips. I promised to post a picture of the EPROMs "in action" so here it is...

The chip is a 2708 clone known as a Fujitsu MB8518. It is being burned with Data IO 29B with Unipak 2B for the Quick & Timely (Q&T) Single Board Computer (SBC) monitor ROM version 1.1. Here I am helping out a buddy fix his QT SBC board.

So, Thanks Vlad, your chips are being put to good use, if only very slowly.

If anyone needs/wants a hand with custom EPROMs for their vintage computer, just let me know. Thanks!

PS, Terry, I am sorting out those extra 5.25" floppy disks as well. Thanks for sending them. I have imaged all the NorthStar related ones and will be posting those soon to the NorthStar disk image archive along with a bunch of others I got this last summer. Also, I have separated out the Vector Graphic disks and will make images of the Vector Graphic disks as part of Catweasel Vector Graphic project. Next are the soft sectored disks but I am not sure what I will do with those. Probably image them with IMD or CW2DMK.
