I am looking to make my Mac 512K just a tad more complete, by adding an external floppy drive to it. I am looking for a SSDD manual insert 3.5" floppy drive, external. It must be Apple brand, from the releases for the 128, 512K, 512Ke, and Macintosh Plus. It looks like the attached picture, and is the floppy drive next to the mac, copyright lowendmac.com

Thanks

PS- Also looking for "T" key for original Macintosh keyboard, like the one in the picture.

MAC drive

MAC drive

I've got a drive here which might be what you're looking for, but it's
made by Microtech:
MAC DRIVE
Type: MAC 532-20
Model: BL2001

Looks sort of like your picture.

No idea if it works (don't have a MAC) but it's yours for shipping from Toronto and the price of a burger.

Naw, the GS drives look like the one attached to this post. Granted. they do the same thing, but I like my stuff to match. So, if anyone has one...
BTW, MikeS, looking for something made by Apple/Macintosh, not off brand, but thanks anyways.

I've been trying not to mention it, because I really don't feel like searching for it, but if these other leads don't pan out, I have an external 'SuperDrive' (800K) you can have (if I ever find it again). It's the one with the real eject button, not the bent paper clip thinggy, FWIW.

The Super drive (1.4Meg or is it 1.6) looks like a regular Apple IIgs 800k drive. The one that Ysserdd has in the picture looks like an 400k drive. The early 800 k ones did not have that slot like that. The old 800k had a perfectly rectangle slot and a small pin hole for the eject button.

Yes, I am looking for an 400K one, but just incase push comes to shove, I am going to go ahead and PM terry about it, so mebbe he can find a pic online.

I have some 1.44 in what I call deep storage, they look the same as a regular Apple IIgs 800k drive. The only way to tell the difference by looking is to look at the bottom where it says it is a SuperDrive with a diferent number.

There is one 400k drive on EBay, and one early 800k mac drive on EBay. They say the 800k works on the IIgs. But from what I know I do not think so.

Here is the url to the early 800k one .

Here is the one for the 400k Both are a bit pricey in the shipping IMO.

Yep, that second link is exactly what I want. I think the prices are good, but I have gotten used to eBay prices. I am watching the auction. Anyone got somethin' cheaper, like the picture in the bottom link?

Sorry, I've got a few 800k drives (I need to pick up a SuperDrive for my hard-drive-less SE to give it three 1.4 MB drives,) but none of the old style, and no 400k drives. (I do have the "Snow White" style 5.25" drive though, the one that goes with the LC Apple IIe card.)

I have an apple 5.25 drive, I am not sure what computer it would go with, but works with the Apple II line. I hear you arent supposed to hook them up to macs, as it could ruin the floppy controller. Is that true?
