Well it seems one vintage portable escaped the culling. I found this while moving and finally pulled it out.

This is a Fujitsu Stylistic 3400, a pentium 3 tablet that ran windows 2000. I actually bought this while it was not very old, only got to use it a couple of times before the battery completely gave out. I finally tried to power it on today and got it to post, but I suspect the hard drive has given up the ghost. The CMOS battery is definitely bad.

Fortunately these are easy things to fix.

Looks neat. I love old tablet computers. What sort of touchscreen did this use? There was no touch dedicated version of 2000 so that sounds a bit rough… I would assume that it came with some software to solve that somewhat. Or did Microsoft have an add on pack at the time? Like 3.11 for pen computing?

The only experience I have with these sort of computers is my HP Compaq TC1100, which runs XP.

I have two Stylistics. One that's later on from the XP Tablet days which is very enjoyable to use and a model even older than yours. Those pre-XP tablets were never enjoyable to use, notably because I could never get the supporting Fujitsu software to make it all work.

I believe its an active touchscreen, it has a stylus I always used.

I guess I must have the dedicated software, I recall using it with win2000 to be very pleasant. There is a row of buttons along the bottom of the screen for various actions. I used it for editing word docs on the go(the one time I got it to work before the battery went kaput) and it was plenty easy to get around on.

Thanks for the warning. I was going to wipe the hard drive and re-install, now I know I had better at least try and recover it.
