good ol' lappy... (German Language Windows 3.11)

Greetz all... I have a somewhat old laptop, that will only run Windows 3.11 or other 16 bit system. The problem: I lost my 3.11 disks! so I went and downloaded a copy of win3.1 from emule, but it turned out to be in German. Now, I can understand enough German to get around, but the friend that I am giving the laptop to can't understand a word of it. Is there any way to change the OS's language, or was it completely rewritten for each language it was in? I mean, everything is in German. The program group names, the menu names and menu items.... EVERYTHING. Anyone got any suggestions?

As far as I remember, you need to get the English version. I know I have some Turkish version around [don't ask] and I was trying the same thing at one time, but arrived to the conclusion that a fresh English version was in order...

Thanks for the info. I was afraid that was the case.... Oh well. I'm in the process of downloading a few more archives of win3.1, and hopefully one of them is in english
