i found it on ebay. the bidding started pretty cheap at about $10, i ended up bidding it up to $25 to win it. still rather cheap, it's in good shape. the seller lived a 1 hour drive south of me, so it showed up the day after i paid for it. that was a nice surprise!

i put some pics up it up here - http://rubbermallet.org/datavue/index.html

it runs great, and i can still even get a 10 minute charge out of the battery pack. it came with the original "SPARK by Datavue" laptop bag. it's a fun little machine, although it'd be nice if they supported a hard drive. the CPU clock selection is done via the BIOS. it can run at 4.77 MHz or 9.54 MHz.

later models of the Spark came with a NEC V20 or V30 rather than an Intel 8088. i haven't taken this thing apart enough to find out what chip is in there, but i did see "revision 2.2" stamped on the motherboard. not sure if that means it's a NEC or not.

Nice machine! I love that generation. The first thing I do with any machine is run a diagnostic like Snooper and find out what's in the box. I guess you'll let us know what the CPU is later, I'm sure you wanted to post as soon as possible. :)
