Greetings all, I come in peace.

I am a hobbyist computer geek with a small cache of Molar Macs (the all in one g3s that were only sold to schools).

I've been slowly going through each one cleaning and repairing them as best I can, and then upgrading them to their limits on stock hardware.

I am debating having them ready to take to vintage computer festival east in wall, NJ this April.

I'm wondering where would be the best place in the forum to showcase these unique machines and maybe document their revivals plus garner some interest.

Thanks much in advance
-Molar Max

There is a section for "Early Apple PowerPC Macs". Some here may debate whether these are "Vintage" but early MAC's seem to fit and they even have there own section, so why not?

Hello and welcome to the forums!
I'm interested in school computers. First, the schools had the Apple II gs, then the Molar Mac g3?

Those look like interesting machines. They were released far after my school days and I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild so seeing it here has made me go down the rabbit hole of reading up on them. 😄

Were they made in large numbers or were they a really limited production run?

Hey! Thank you very much, that sounds about right. I don't necessarily like thinking of them as being vintage myself because I happen to remember these being in schools when I was in school and, well, that would make me vintage too. 🤣

Thanks for the advice.

Well I know the Performas were popular in schools before these all in one G3s but that's about the extent of my knowledge on that.

Welcome to VCFED.

These are very interesting machines! About at interesting as they are heavy (and they are friggin' HEAVY)!

I do remember seeing these in school myself when I was in elementary school, these machines were a very limited run at the were introduced I believe in early 98 and discontinued in late 98.

They were also only sold in the United States, I believe. They're pretty hard to find particularly in working condition. They're also the first Mac to feature that plastic translucent cladding that was a precursor to the iMacs that completely reinvented the design of Apple computers!
