How to use a IEEE1394 connection with a USB port? Plus web cam and support.
I have a Panasonic digital camcorder model PV-GS15 that I wanted
to hook up to my Hewlett Packard Compaq Presario model C769US product
ID KN986UA. MY camcorder can not record motion pictures on to an SD
card and my KN9896UA computer does not have a IEEE13494 connection it
does have USB and a memory card slot and Ethernet connection of the
connections it has I have only seen adapters form IEEE1394 also
sometimes called Firewire to USB so I bought one of such adapters
advertised as plug and play and tried it out with my above camera on
putting out a signal the computer notices the signal though indicates
it does not understand the signal. I later read that plug andf play
does not always mean you do not have to do configuration for it to
work,. My goals are to view what is on my camera above on my computers
and to send such information to DVD and to the web. I have been able
to send pictures motion and still form a Fuji model A340 camera to my
computer which goes from USB to USB though the Fuji camera mentioned
hereon has no audio ability. The adapter device for IEEE1394 to USB is
SKU number B081 I have not been able to find it manufacturer name nor
manufacturer contact information though ask the seller which never
gave me such answer. Is it possible to get my goal(s) above to, work
and if yes how? You may post your reply here only though a private
email as well would be of help and is the most dependable way to get
in contact with me since I get to many web sites to get the time to go
to them all. I am also interested in setting up web cam my Compaq
computer has built in web cam. If you private email me I can give you
my phone number to call me at or call you if you give them a phone
number which is likely the best way to set up a web cam. I would be
happy to offer you computer support on aspects of computers I know
about. With Skype I am told one can make free telephone calls I woulod
al;so like support for Skype.
AOL AV does not require any software to use it is stated.
