I found this book I had rescued from the lab. (Old lab) It was on it's way to the dumpster and I couldn't let this little gem go anywere.

It's a LARGE book that contains very detailed specs for IBM systems from the IBM PC through the 486 class PS/2's. It also has a FULL listing of ALL of the POST codes for the PS/2's. (Several pages) Full pinouts for ISA and MSA buses, (both 8 and 16-bit) Hard drive tables type 1-47 and the drive details for both the IBM's and and several others including Award BIOS and several Compaq types. Hard Drive Specs from several manufacturers, PIN outs for power connectors, keyboard connectors, and even SDL Connectors! It also has Keyboard number and scan code charts. And if you have a PS/2 of almost any type, it gives VERY detailed specs on them, including but not limited to

all possible processor types,
Bus type
memory info
graphics info
disk storage info
System Architecture
Physical dementions
environment info
And most fun of all, Its original Price! Plus the introduction and withdrawl dates.

The book it self IS NOT forsale. Don't even ask. But I will make PDF scans of its valueable pages. I can print and mail hard copies for a small fee to cover ink and paper. But PDF's would be free. This is pretty much the who, what, when, where, why and how of a PS/2. Inside, outside, how-to's and diagrams.

E-mail me or PM me if you need info or the charts of POST errors.

Someone mentioned Keyboard and scan codes, this has a chart of that if who ever it was finds this.....

I'll share the wealth of information with all!!
Feel free to ask me to find anything in this very large book. It has pinouts and everything!

It's not just PS/2 only, it has XT and AT general stuff as well.

What is the title of the book? If it's an IBM publication, what is the document/book number?

It's not an IBM book suprisingly. It's called Upgrading and Repairing PC's Second Edition. We use to used as a reference becuase of all the charts and diragrams and such. IBM did however, contribute a lot of the images and information to the author. (Scott Mueller.)

For a moment there I thought you had stumbled across a gem. And for anyone who doesn't know the Mueller books it is indeed a gem. I have 5 of them starting with edition 3 going up to edition 8. Without them computer collecting would have been an exercise in frustration.

It is online and I had the URL but can't find it in my bookmarks. I need a search engine for my bookmarks !!
