Yes there were a number of organizations that provided “ other options “ based on the Micro Cornucopia highly successful and popular upgrade of Kaypro II’s.

As many of you know, we invested a great deal of funds [e.g., $2000 then or $5000 today !] and time with our Kaypro II’s and the demise of Kaypro was a big disaster for us in so many ways. Anything that could just keep them going and improve their performance was a high priority.

The others just did not compare with MC and quickly did not exist.

I still have some of the info and main chips for some of these, but doubt if much real use, interest, etc. and would have to dig it out !

We keep discovering all these” variations / modifications, etc.” of Kaypros and that can make it very difficult to try to preserve them, especially in working order.

More info.

More info.

Never saw a Legacy board like the one in the lower middle of your picture.

What is underneath the board – a critical area for many Kaypros.

Mainboard PC8-240A is very common after initial mainboards.

Looks like another board added in upper left corner. Again, never saw one of those.

Cannot read chip numbers with white labels on them.. May help us all if you can provide them.

What is white label top middle in external video section ?

Any more pictures of your Kaypro, especially the back panel and big chips on mainboard ?

Check many other posts on this site for more info.
