If the tension band is rusted through, then the CRT is no longer safe and may implode anytime.I recently picked up this non working ADM-3a with severe cataract.
Unfortunately the CRT glue has leaked onto the board and caused quite severe corrosion, the tension Band is rusted through as well.
...
I don’t believe so, if you read the patent, it is stated that the tension band is fitted after the crt is put under a vacuum. So I don’t think it would implode out of nowhere. However, if it was to implode, the implosion would be mutch worse. If the tension band is rusted through, then the CRT is no longer safe and may implode anytime.
It had it inside one, see the picture.FYI it is much easier to handle the bare CRT if you put it in a plastic bucket first.
Woah, had to twist my brain around to see it because of the angles. It had it inside one, see the picture.
Just two layers of double sided tape along the edgesWoah, had to twist my brain around to see it because of the angles.
