I'm looking for a case similar to this one:

I don't need anything in it I have all the "guts" just need a case.
If you're in driving distance of Cleveland that would be a bonus as I would prefer to come pick it up rather than hoping it doesn't get kicked around by a shipping company.

Hi,

Try your local thrift stores. I've bought monitors at mine for as low as 50Cents for a 10" monitor and $3 for 21" monitors and $1 PS/2 keyboards.

I love my local thrift stores for all sorts of stuff.

Yea, you are 20 years too late for finding these at thrift stores. Even recyclers would rarely get something that looks like that.

Oh wow, I had that case , and recycled it 2 years ago. The plastic was very yellow and had a crack, and had some nasty rear chassis rust. Have so many other cases, so didn't keep it. Wish you luck on your hunt! Still have the power button if you need a replacement.

Problem with computers at least by me, Goodwill has a contract with some recycler. They will not resell any computer, which is super sad. My nephew works at one and they just recycled a bunch of noname 8088/286 machines. :(

Hi,

I goto the local thrift stores for most stuff I need first, and they tend to have lots of old PCs, parts and dozens of monitors. I got three new looking DELL PS/2 Keyboards. The only thing the thrift stores don't sell are the hard drives. I also buy ac adapters for 25cents each.

goodwill has caught on to the vintage computer prices on eBay, they now take such donations and auction them off on their own site at end-of-the-rainbow prices so these things don't even get in the store.

Hi,

Yeah, I watch the Shop.Goodwill.com site for a few things, but the bids go to high for me.

I keep hoping I might snag a Commodore 64 for less than $100.

.

Hi,

BTW, I have a couple of old mid-tower PC cases, but I don't think they're worth the cost of shipping anywhere. Basic HP boxes from 2-core days.

I keep them in case I decide to build a new computer in one, but so far that seems like a long way off.

Yeah that's always what makes it so hard to get one, even if I find a decent price the shipping is too expensive. That's why I was hoping to find one nearby that I could go pick up.

Divarin,

I just want to verify since you don't show the rear of the case that you want one without the modern common plate, and only the AT keyboard hole. I'm not actually sure what I have in storage, but just want to ask before going out there to look.

Ah thanks. I should have come back here and posted an update. I'm no longer looking for this. I found a suitable case. It's a beige ATX case but I made it work.
