looking for a decent condition (no major work required) color classic, everyone on ebay has lost their minds and you can't get one for under $350...
 
That's not crazy, that's what they sell for even her in Germany as a normal auction. Well, actually, most sell for way more.

Reasons are plenty. Last of the compact Macs, only one with color display, very easy to upgrade to a 040 system.

I highly doubt you can get a working one in good condition for $350 or even less.
 
i think it's ridiculous, which is why i'm putting out feelers to see if someone is willing to part for a more sane price

Market prices have an annoying habit of disregarding subjective feelings about what is ridiculous and what is reasonable. 🤷‍♂️
 
No major work required? Well thats a completely misinformed request as these models absolutely REQUIRE a complete board recap and analog board recap which is a HUGE TIME CONSUMING TASK. I know i have done it 3 times. So you want a questionable board? Or your unwilling to pay for all the time and effort someone put into restoring a system?

i'm happy to recap a board, i don't personally consider that major work. major work to me is a cataracted crt, dead mainboard, etc. but since this apparently a hugely inflammatory and offensive request can mods just lock this thread? i frankly don't feel like dealing with the fucking headache

you people really need to learn how to disagree silently and move on
 
Its like 80 to 100 caps its a really long job. Therefore a big job.

and not sure who your talking about. I dont see any bad comments. Were they removed?

No disrespect intended, but perhaps it would be wise to read the definition of what a forum is.

If there were threatening and/or otherwise unruly posts, that would be one thing, but I don't see either as someone else already pointed out.
