I am not sure that this is in the right place,but it looked like the right idea for this post. :-D
I finally put back up my BBS using Worldgroup 2 (MajorBBS) after finding a glitch in my MBBS 6.25 (it appears to lockup randomly on my P2 400 Mhz). WG2 is up and running (basically out of box configuration -- but if interested : Telnet://teobbs.dyndns.org).
Recently I found that Fidonet is still around and I am trying to get it setup on the WG2 server under DOS. If you ever were a Sysop on a MBBS or WG system,I could use some help setting up the system for Fidonet. The main issue I am seeing so far is that we will have to find a DOS (not Windows) solution to convert a mailer (FrontDoor) to be able to talk to Telnet. WIndows offers a solution called "NetFoss", but this will NOT work under DOS.
Plus if I have to run a "virtual modem" I may just decide to run RA (RemoteAccess) again and put my board up just as it was in 1991.
Anyhow, prefer to use my WG2 installation if possible.
Possibility of a trade of license keys if someone would rather run MBBS 6.25 or WG2 (this is a legitimate 68 node license) would trade for an RA 2.52 comparable license key file. If interested, let me know.
Must be a legit key.
