  • From now on we will require that a prefix is set for any items in the sales area. We have created regions and locations for this. We also require that you select a delivery option before posting your listing. This will hopefully help us streamline the things that get listed for sales here and help local people better advertise their items, especially for local only sales. New sales rules are also coming, so stay tuned.

I have found this computer in an estate sale but don't know what it is. The gentleman worked for NCR. I do know it is an ADDS.

Well, it can be used on any computer that it has protocols to interface with. You could even hook it up to a current computer if it has a serial port or a USB to serial adapter.

It looks very much like the ADDS 880 (I think it was an 880) "micro" that our Honeywell H61/60 used to have as a communications controller, but without the cassette tape. However I note the that it does have a cassette port on the back.

I wonder if it is a termianl implemented by a micro. These were very common at one time.

It is a video data terminal and the style looks like 1970's era. ADDS shows in Manta as an active company, you might try a call to them using the info I copied from the Manta page:

I like the Made in USA part on the back - I miss seeing that.

Doesn't anyone remember when the ADDS Viewpoint was the hottest budget terminal around? I'm surprised if not. I still have my Viewpoint manual somewhere.
