Hi

On the PS/2 I got recently the floppy drive does not work.

(general failure, sector not found etc etc).

I've tried to clean the heads, but no luck.

I've also used compressed air to remove all dust from it.

some of them have bad capacitors ive fixed a mitsubishi drive from my model 60 by replacing the capacitors. if your good with soldering you might could do it or get some one to do it for you.

I have the same problem with an ALPs 1.44meg drive. I replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors and still no luck. Do you think changing the tants would help?

Hmm..
I am good at soldering, but I think replacing the drive is less hassle. then I can keep the old one as a spare drive..

I'll keep my eyes open @ ebay... or does anybody here have one to sell me ? Yzzerdd, Is there one in your haul maybe ?
