Olivetti M300-02E drive issues

Whatever you like. Maybe you can "fix" e.g mark bad sectors on that HDD by using Scandisk from DOS 6.2 installation disk or via norton disk doctor by copying ndd.exe and running it on that DOS 5. Maybe you can try another tool. Maybe you can just get another HDD, or you might want to know that you can easily and cheaply remove that fixed drive from your PC and plug in a CF card instead.

Can we say with certainty that all 286+ Olivettis are "nothing special"? Not that it's a bad thing, rather the opposite.
Scandisk from MS-DOS disk 6.2 still says it needs MS-DOS 6.2 to run. I downloaded MHDD but that is MS-DOS 6.2 also.
EDIT: Success! Downloaded Norton45 NDD to disk and it allocated a few bad blocks and Presto!. Working. Thank You for your suggestions.

No problem, NDD is better tool anyways.
That's why I said from "DOS installation disk" e.g. boot the disk then run scandisk.
