Complete with Best Buy price tag. The tamper seal (foil sticker) is still intact on the case so it's never been opened. A couple pieces of the original styrofoam were lost at one point so I made my own padding. The monitor's original box was lost too so it's in a custom box. Attachable speakers are included too. No software included. Can only attach ten pics so contact me for more. The last time I turned it on, everything worked just fine... $300 for everything. I'll also post on FB and CL. Thank you!

Put it back in the box and wait 30 years to inflict Packard Bell on a future generation instead of the current one.

Now fully tested. Encarta 95 CD was in the drive! Original monitor base is included. Price drop to $250.

Most PB systems I ran across were to fix issues from my neighbors. I hated them. Only 1 given to me by a friend worked well and I used it to connect to my pdp-8i at the time. Other than that I'd not want one.

So much hate for PB's on this forum.. I've had a dozen or so over the years and never had a problem with them... if you don't want another one, please don't flame my post. Thank you.

Not flaming your post. But of those I was asked to repair it was not easy to do so as PB uses their own BIOS if I remember or something specific that they made. Maybe you're the lucky one. I was just giving my opinion on my experiences with PB.

I recall there were two things that were "zesty" about the Packard Bells my family had:

1. The motherboards/cases were those weird nonstandard form-factors (possibly some flavour of LPX, but that was hardly a standard of much value). This meant you couldn't easily swap in a spare mainboard. In 2023, when you want the machine as a snapshot of 1995, that's not a big deal, but when it's 1998 and that Pentium 75 with no cache is beginning to feel a bit poky, it means yet another part that needs to be upgraded to swap out.

2. One had unique hard disc system-- iapparently it was a Conner CFS-2113 -- a 1.2Gb and an 850Mb drive that masqueraded as a single 2Gb unit in firmware. While technically fascinating, it seemed to be less than healthy when it got retired, and didn't respond well when I wanted to bifurcate the drives to use them independently.

It's interesting that on the one hand, they were famously a bottom-feeder, but that didn't result in them just outsourcing more engineering-- designing custom cases and mainboards and those sound/modem/tortilla press cards would likely be more costly than tapping into existing lowest-bid suppliers, unless there was a huge cost and assembly overhead savings associated with integration.

Also this era Packard Bell was hit with a class action lawsuit, as they were selling machines as new, with used parts. Don't get me wrong I dont hate PB, but they did some very shady things 486 till Pentium MMX era. I own a P166 MMX machine for the record lol.
