Its more of that I already have a 32gb CF card which is probably plenty for the 10 or so games that I own.

Its a bit odd - an original Sony IDE and network adapter by itself is about $20. Adapter with rails and an old, slow, soon-to-be-dead hdd is $50. But I can't find a cheap price for either adapter + rails - hdd or rails by themselves.

Yeah usually its $10 +10 for shipping or $20 free shipping. Remarkably consistent, I guess those things are bulletproof. Its the drive rails/cage I can't find.

I've never used rails. It just sort of slides in the slot without them. I do put a little padding on the "front" of the drive so it doesn't rattle around.

Hmm. Ok. It does look plenty tight in there if I use one of my fatter IDE drives.

Sidebar: I do love getting call it "IDE" again instead of "PATA". I love this forum.
