Sdltrs

Brilliant! This works well. The macOS native fullscreen mode (by clicking the green circle or pressing control-command-F) also works well.
Great! Latest SDL2 commit sets the fullscreen desktop mode, regardless of the operating system: this seems to be the best choice ...

I just started fiddling around with SDLTRS and LDOS 3.51 on a RetroPie machine I just built. I haven't used RS machines since I worked there in the 1980's so I'm pretty rusty, but getting there. Right now, I'm trying to create a hard drive image and I can't seem to get a valid image size using SDLTRS's built-in "Create Hard Disk Image..." command. I thought an ST-412 definition would be appropriate (10MB, FH) -- I remember there were two drives, 5MB and 10MB.

Is this the best combination? Should I be using a different OS to build a decent HD-based setup?

Thanks!

It's taken me a bit to figure this out, so I'm documenting it here so others can find it. Sdltrs will create a container file with a header and when you use the RSHARD5 command, it fills out the container to the final size based on the geometry of the drive you defined when creating the container. Then you use the command RSFORM5A to format the drive. You can then make it a system drive with two additional commands mentioned in this document (https://tim-mann.org/trs80/doc/rshard.pdf), but I believe you still need a floppy to be able to access it -- you cannot boot from the external drive.
