If you, like many others, don't have the HP95LX User manual which is unfindable on line, check out a program on the HP95LX SUPER site. http://hp200lx.net/super95.html in the productivity category called HP95 Utility Pack.

When unzipped it has a more than adequate replacement manual in Windows .hlp format of 280K length.

And here is a pdf of the complete book the help file was extracted from. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/r_harvey/explor95.pdf

I had cruised all the sites suggested but somehow missed the documentation on the HP museum site. It included some essential manuals (btw the 95lx manual is abysmal and focuses almost entirely on the Lotus 123 program, which the manual authors were obviously entranced with. The help file and book pdf I posted are eaons above the manual.) and I even eventually even found the Connectivity pack program on a packet short-wave site. Unfortunately the download was a backup which didn't include the "install" program and my efforts to install it using DOS have been unsuccessful. I included the directory path in autoexec but executing app95.exe to make a 95lx clone in dos for transferring or modfying files, etc. has been unsuccessful. I get a fault that a necessary file is not available.

So if anyone has the 95lx connectivity "install" file or even the autoexec.bat or config.sys modifications on their PC, I would appreciate the assistance.

Thank you

To reply to my own request:

The connectivity pack files can be found here. http://webpages.charter.net/crstrode/HP95LX/

All one needs to do in the absence of the "install" file is to create a folder in which you place these files, and then edit the autoexec file, including in the "path" the folder you've deposited the files in, and also, before autoexec points to any program execution add "set PIMS=(the folder path you've just added).

After rebooting, the program app95.exe will set up a clone of the 95lx Filer screen on your pc and you can proceed to establish connectivity via the cable as described in the Connectivity Pack Manual available on the HP Museum site given in an earlier post.
