Hi everyone.

I have a Tandy RLX Hard Drive unit and wanted to ask a few
questions that perhaps some of you here can help with.

1. My 1.44mb floppy is flaky. It gives me problems from time to
time and before it becomes a total problem I wanted to ask if anyone
know where I can perhaps find a replacement drive?

2. I was also curious about adding a second 1.44mb floppy into the
unit. I know there is a bay available for such a drive. Has anyone else
tried this and is it as simple as just finding and placing another drive
into the computer and hooking it up to the floppy ribbon cable?

Thanks
John

I Have a normal tandy 1000rlx system (no hard drive) I added one and the system became flakey afterword.

First off you cannot have a hard drive and a dual disk setup internally in the machine, normally there is no where near enough clearance for both. Also the power supply is VERY weak and any extra load makes the system unstable.

Second The disk drives draw power off the cable so in order to install a normal disk drive you need to break out the tandy cable into a power cable and drive cable, another issue is that the drives are not faced normally so you would need to mod either the disk drive or the casing so the button would be accessible.

Now my question is how do I install a normal keyboard?

Good Luck
