This is my other important question about the upgrade.
In the existing diskless unit, the dummy faceplates that cover the drive openings are not removable - they are part of one large injection-molded assembly that includes the monitor support bracket.
It appears that the designers did imagine that someone might want to upgrade, however, in that it looks like you can remove either of the faceplates by snipping these eight (!) support tabs.
Before I go and make such a permanent mod to my system, I thought I'd ask if this is the right thing to do?
The upper faceplate seems a bit trickier. There are 8 tabs up there as well, but the upper pair are a lot thicker:
I hate to perform violence on my system like this, but it seems the only way. Comments?
