Since I'm slowly increasing my collection of UK computers, I'd like to buy a suitable extention cord, the one which lets you connect many devices to one wall outlet. Obviously, those extention cords are impossible to obtain over here, or would be incredibly expensive.

If someone of you who live in the UK has a spare one, ideally 3-5 slots, or know a place which sells those cheap, I'd be happy to buy it. I suppose it could be sent as a bulky letter to save on postage. PM me with your best offers. :)

One could argue that I can cut off the original power plugs and install the ones used over here, but I think that is a worse option. I already have one converter from UK to 230V US (or how it should be called, if it exists in wild) and then from US to Swedish.

Actually, that reminds me. When I was in China, I picked up this really fancy extension lead very cheaply. The main plug has a multi adaptor on it that enables it to be plugged into different outlets (the 'spare' outlet adaptors slide away into the housing). The plugs on the expansion can also accept several different types of plug.

Unfortuantely, apart from the local market in Beijing, I have no idea where you could get one :(

Thanks for the link. The particular eBay seller though primarily operates UK only, it seems. I don't know about pricing in the UK, but I could buy a corresponding five slot extention lead with power button (!) for £1.50, at most £3.00 in almost any electronics warehouse over here. Of course yours includes a fuse and the connectors may be more expensive to manufacture.

In the mean time, Nige and me have already arranged a deal. We'll see what it ends at, but it should work fine.

Yes I have become a little unreliable lately:rolleyes:, but the parcel is wrapped, addressed, and by the front door waiting to go to town with me!

The extention block has now arrived, seven weeks later. It was supposedly sent by Royal Mail Surface. Normally it should take up to two weeks, says their website. Perhaps someone has walked the distance from UK to Sweden.
