Hi,

I have an IBM RS/6000 workstation which has a video card that uses a 3W3 connector like one of these:

http://www.cysy.com.tw/images/D-Subcoaxial01/D-Sub-coaxial01_12.jpg

Has anyone got a spare lead that would mate with this please, preferbly terminated with three BNC connectors to connect to my monitor?

I am in the UK so preference given to Europeans to save on postage costs (I can pay via Paypal or post cash).

Thanks,
John

PS - what exactly is the co-ax connector in a 3W3 socket (or 13W3 for that matter) - is it SMB?.

I will look in my parts warehouse. It looks familiar but I have sooo many parts, it makes my head spin and I don't exactly know what every part goes too.

I was lucky to obtain a large supply of free vintage computer parts from a project manager who worked for GE from the 50's into the 80's. He repaired systems as a hobby and before he went into a home, he gave away everything. No guarantees, but I will at least look. I'm talking old stuff here!!!

OK, I took a look and could not find one, sorry I could not help you.

I have a variety of old wire wrap connectors though, in various sizes and connections.

I believe the coax pins carry the respective R, G, B signals, and any other pins in the connector (like 13W3) hold the sync rates and other information. It is too bad you didn't post this message five years ago. Back then I had access to a small stash of unused 3W3 to BNC cables, but I don't have them any longer. Good luck finding another source though.

Thanks Carlsson, I assume you now subscribe to the computer collectors ethics and _never_ throw anything anyway, and hence share your life with piles of boxed up junk that someone some day will beat down your door for? No?

Anyway, back on topic, RGB video connections using 3W3 employ sync-on-green, so no other pins are needed or provided.

Regards,
John
