i tested an assembled card from hargle over the weekend and it passed with flying colors.
its my first XTIDE card. PCB rev2. universal bios v1.1.0
here are some details from my vintage setup.

hard drive: Seagate ST310212A 10.2G (5 bucks from weirdstuff warehouse - sunnyvale)
cable: 80pin
motherboard: Juko XT 12MHz turbo 1MB
Bios: Phoenix v2.27
OS: MS-DOS 6.22
other notes: works well with my 4-port floppy disk controller (FDC-344)
which has its own bios. firmware version 4.2. no contentions.

i possibly might want to try a CF card next time. still waiting for my new adapters.
i used scandisk and norton utilities for testing so far.
you guys keep mentioning checkit v3.0 to benchmark actual read/write speeds
if somebody has this version can you pls PM me. i dont have that wrench in my toolbox.

in the spirit of this being a DIY hobby.
my 2nd XT-IDE card will be built by me.
it helps that i now have a golden card to compare and benchmark.
i already received the PCB from Andrew. so i guess im off to Jameco next.
i'll keep you guys in the forum posted.
