Just wondered if any XE users had any games for your system (regardless of the media it's on - e.g. Cartridge, Disk)?

With this just write a list of games you have - if there's hundreds of games don't go overboard - unless you want to. Make a Top 10 list or something. In this short list of Games just write under the name of the game (doesn't have to be all of the games) some sort description as to why you liked the game.

Sorry no prizes folks, unless people can share throughts about the games for their system & I build some kind of Database to the most popular game - would have to work on a tally system - so in a top 10 preference - put 1 as being your favourite game & so on. If you don't have 10 games to this system just put whatever number you have (if any).

Just see how we go! ;-)

Yes, okay. I was hoping this -could- come a popular thread over time
where people can send in their favourite games. In this case I'm not after
an overall collection of Atari software. I'd like to see what everyones
favourite Atari XE game would be (games specifically designed to work on
the XE - not a 400/800 based games - other threads could be made for
those computers for example). As I said tried to imply earlier it doesn't
have to be a collection of all your games - the ones which standout more
than everything else. Your favourite XE games - if you have any.

Anyway, with XE based computers, you're exclusively talking about 800XE, 65XE, 130XE and XEGS?

In 1985, the 65XE (64K) and 130XE (128K) replaced the 600XL (16K) respectively 800XL (64K) models. The 800XE is an European version of 65XE. The XEGS (1987) is a game system based on 65XE but with detachable keyboard.

As far I understand, the XE series were more or less backwards compatible with the original and XL series, even when it comes to cartridge format? It says Atari more or less had given up the XEGS by late 1988, but didn't discontinue it until 1992. It is interesting, as Commodore tried a similar approach with their C64GS a couple of years after Atari had tried and failed. One would think they could look at their competitors and draw conclusions, but alas... no true businessman bases his decisions on how the competitors fare.
