north korean nuke test

Not too worried about it here, not much they can do with it anyway. There are 9 nuclear armed countries (some bordering each other and hating each others guts like India and Pakistan and lets not forget the jews) and none have tried to use them so far.

Launching a nuke these days is a pretty fast way to end up getting obliterated in 15 minutes. While I sould shit if some hard to track terrorists ended up with a nuke, I am not too worried about a dictator who only cares about himself having one since self preservation is his number one thaught.

Nukes were more fun when the US was the only one to have them. Don't forget that back in WW2 many countries had poison gas including nerve gas (the WOMD before nukes came around) and not even Hitler waiting to die in his bunker had the balls to use them. To me having a nuke is just a way to show your country is strong, like the old days when countries would build battleships they never intended to use. Its a status thing, and also a deterent to any other countreis who do not like you and have a nuke also.

I don't have any great love for our elected leader, but show some respect. As a youngster you really don't have to right to call people 'retards', and I think that is just insensitive to people who deal with Down's Syndrome.

My humblest of humble opinions; If there are according to Unkown_K, 9 countries with nuclear arms, and they can all be used to kill members of your country, nevermind alliances, then one more doesn't bother me. If anyone of the 9 decides to go on a nuclear spree, what difference will one more make? I certainly doubt korea has the intent to use them and pretty much any country can have a nuclear arms program these days.

So you see, when someones syas 'One more nuclear threat', after the first one I don't think it matters wether there are 9 or 90, if one nation decides to press the proverbial button, then we are pretty much all 'screwn'*.

* - lol.

Stop being so condesending all the time to the kids on this board. I know its not "politically correct" to call someone a retard, but we did elect a moron to office. There can be no respect given towards him. As for people with Downs and other learning disabilities, yes, its not necessarily a nice thing to call them such names, but you have to realize that the term is becoming part of the vernacular in the same way the word "Gay" has taken on the meaning of something bad.

Condescending? I'd have said the same thing to an adult.

I don't like the man holding the office, but the office should be respected. Somebody barely old enough to drive a car really isn't qualified to criticize, and criticism should be more insightful than just calling somebody a 'retard'.

You would have said "As a youngster you really don't have to right to call people 'retards'" to an adult? Why is someone "not old enough to drive" not qualified to criticize the worst president the country has ever had? What the hell does that have to do with anything. Just because someone is young, doesn't mean that they know not what they are talking about. I know reasons why bush is a moron, such as going to war over lies, or going to war to avenge his father, or going to war for the oil, or not being able to speak like a normal person. He is a moron. A moron who has sent ~2500 allied troops and thousands of civilians to their deaths for no reason.

I don't know how many times I've said that I don't like the current administration. But as you get older, you realize the world isn't black and white.

When you get a job, pay taxes, have a few children, see some of the world, etc. then you'll be in a better position to criticize.

I always hated when older people told me to shut up and listen. You learn a lot more by listening. Try it.

Ouch...

My only thoughts on this latest development, upon which it will go back to North Korea talk.

Knowledge = Power.... but Power =/= Knowledge.... ex:

By the way USS Enterprise, if the moderators have some sort of bias against Atari I'd suggest you just observe it and say nothing more.

Atari earned his reputation here among us the hard way, so pointing out that he's a youngster and acting like it should be read as putting his comment in context, not as a slam to anybody in his age group. The comment was to Atari, not you.

Its not just Atari. What about when there was a person under 18 on here, who had things listed on eBay, and you had to ask if he had his parent's help? Similar situation. Its none of your damn business if he had his parents help or not. Its not your responsibility to tell us that we are wrong for criticizing bush, and saying his position deserves no respect at present. If Clinton were in office, I would probably have a great deal of respect for his position. I've noticed, you do talk down to people on the board who are not adults. Not really Vlad, Terry, or Erik. You have a bias.

I've been using ebay since I was 9, and have completed over 300 transactions with 100% feedback. /end bragging

Gloves off now ..

That same person also tried to sell the same laptop here at a rediculously inflated price. He was all trying to do us a favor, I'm sure.

Anybody else whose defense you want to rush to?

It's the consumer's job to look into things and search around for prices.

For example...

You can buy a Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 for $450 on eBay.
You can buy a Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 fro $350 online at Conics.

Some people just assume eBay is cheaper. Both products are new.

If he wanted to try and get as much as possible for it, I support him. Its a capitalistic nation. He had every right to try. I once tried to get $300 for a $150 pinball machine because I hoped that I would get someone to buy it,and I got it from someone. I don't feel bad. Its a dog eat dog world. Capititalism reigns supreme. The fact that he lowered his price shows that he realized that he wasn't going to get that much for it.

Enough is enough. Stay on topic and knock off the bickering or this thread will be locked. No Exceptions.
