Is this legit?

Later versions of Works were able to fit on a single 720kB floppy so 3 360kB floppies isn't too unreasonable. On the other hand, the description of the product does not make sense. A working model was generally a set of demo disks without any manuals. Plus it claims to be Works version 1.1 for windows 2 but everything I have seen suggests that MS Works didn't get a Windows version until Windows 3.

If you decide to bid on it, demand closer pictures of what you are actually getting including pictures of the contents of the ring binder.

Well, that's because the seller decided to run the charge up with expedited shipping, not the normal Economy or First Class shipping options.

And if the:

Disks are labeled working model, setup, program 1, & program 2
Then wouldn't there be four disks instead of three?

I will do some research on this and see what I can find. If I remember correctly, Works 1.05 was 10 360k floppies. Why is this only 3?

A quick search on Google gave me this passage in Wikipedia:

How could the version being sold be for Windows?

Marcoguy, so unless you can get the seller to take a picture of a minimum requirements page in the manual or any other requirements reference on the item to prove it, Krebizfan's statement holds true.

I know it's inconceivable and borders on heresy, but ... could Wikipedia possibly be wrong?

Wikpedia might wrong and my memory might be wrong and the reseller of old software might never have picked up the package but that still leaves the problem of why a free working model would have a complete set of documentation that had to cost more than $50 to print.

I got multiple working models from Microsoft back in the Windows 2 timeframe and all I got in each case was an envelope with the disks needed and sometimes a printed sheet with a little information.

100% Positive Feedback - 153 sales - only $30 - I'd have thought it's more likely he's genuine. Dunno about MS Works, I'm curious though.
Really want that PC DOS, its actually affortdable lol, but clearly states 'no international shipping' - curses.

I'm not arguing and in fact it's quite possible that those diskettes do not go with that documentation; I'm just suggesting that one should not rely totally on Wikipedia for 100% accurate facts.

"It's on the internet so it must be true!"...

And now that I've learned that listing something for too low a price means that I might be full of shit I'll be sure to double what I was planning to list my old MS software packages for, or at least scratch and dirty them up a bit...

I didn't see his ratings. I just am naturally wary of short descriptions and information that doesn't fully check out. I am curious as to what the copy of Works would be like.
