Just picked this up today off of the "information super highway" being my first new IBM compatible PC from Fred Meyer's here in Utah (although mine was a 386sx) back in the early 90's.

Couple of questions:

How'd I do on price ($105)?
Anybody have documentation, information, things to watch for?

Looking to get all the parts surrounding this, IBM Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard, Bundled Software, etc.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to contributing more in the future rather than always being a taker. ;)

(whoops, realized I put Imagination "Station" instead of "System" and 50D instead of 51D, long day)

Be careful with the pivoting front cover, it is supported by little plastic hinges that are fragile.
I can vouch for that (unfortunately). I have already broken off part of the left clip on the pivoting cover. Didn't take much to do it either. But the top cover is very easy to get off. No screws! There's a latch right above the floppy drive. Just pull up on that latch and pull the cover forward.

As for the price, that may be a tad high just for the system itself. I got mine for less than that. I'm not sure what the "official" value of PS/1 systems like this one are, but I think the PS/1s with the PSU built into the monitor (like the 2011) are more sought after.

Hope that helps.

Just got a similar one from school. The principal had it all set to be scraped and he was pleased to get rid of it when I asked him if I could have it.
It is the SX-25 version with an 85MB HDD (HDD doesn't start; I placed it in the freezer for now. **EDIT**: Freezer trick has worked! HDD now starts). Sadly I don't see any frequency-setting jumpers to overclock it to 33 MHz, although someone said that he has done so by setting a jumper. I wonder if it is one of those that need soldering or unsoldering to configure.
The monitor is an SVGA, but it has a 9-pin input (can these receive signal from CGA/EGA cards as well? I'll check it out). I don't have a 9 to 15 pin cable so I ordered one from ebay.

Bezerekus,

can you take a quality picture of the mainboard? I want to see what is it that sets the clock speed at 33 MHz and mod mine. Is that "turbo" opened or shorted in yours?

Mine was an SX33 from the factory, I turned it into a DX33 by putting an Intel 486DX33 in the upgrade socket. It does not do DX2 unless pin B14 of the SX upgrade socket is grounded to disable the SX CPU read here, lower half of page. The clock speed is probably through a dedicated 33mhz crystal.
